The International Board of the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF-ERC) strongly condemns the drone attacks carried out on 5 March against the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The attack struck the terminal building of Nakhchivan Airport, while another drone fell in the vicinity of a school in the village of Shakarabad, causing damage to civilian infrastructure and injuring four civilians. Such acts constitute a grave violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and run contrary to the fundamental norms and principles of international law.
ICYF-ERC calls for an immediate and transparent investigation of the incident and urges that the necessary measures be taken to ensure that such attacks are not repeated.
The Eurasian Regional Center of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum expresses its solidarity with the Republic of Azerbaijan and wishes the injured a swift and full recovery, and may Allah The Almighty grant them healing. ICYF-ERC reiterates the importance of respect for international law, sovereignty, and the preservation of peace and stability in the region.
