A diplomatic reception was held to mark the 15th anniversary of the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC) with the attendance of representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions accredited in Azerbaijan, government agencies, rectors of universities, NGOs, and members of Parliament.
Mr. Elchin Asgarov, Chair of the Board of ICYF-ERC, delivered an opening speech. He noted that the first youth platform of OIC was established in Baku in 2004, endorsed by H.E. President Ilham Aliyev. He also emphasized that the Eurasian Regional Center of the Forum was created in Baku with the support of the Azerbaijani government, expressing gratitude for the government’s continued support and hospitality.
Speaking on behalf of the Azerbaijani government, H.E. Mr. Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed satisfaction in the long-standing cooperation of flagship initiatives such as the Alliance of Civilizations for Youth, the Model OIC, and the OIC Youth Capital program. He affirmed that the Ministry would continue its collaboration with the Center.
On behalf of the diplomatic corps in Azerbaijan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mohamed Adil Embarch, delivered a congratulatory speech. He highlighted the ICYF-ERC’s contributions to the development and networking of youth and enhancement of their leadership skills over the past 15 years. He wished the Center continued success in its future endeavors.
The event concluded with a gala dinner and a cultural program representing the cultures of OIC member states.
