On the occasion of the World Population Day, Youth Advocacy Network (YAN) organized on 13 July 2020 an International E-Conference with the aim of assessing the Socio-Economic Impacts of COVID19 on the Population and tailoring the responses of civil societies and governments to recover from the crisis.
Along with other international and local guests representing Asia Pacific Alliance, Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, FP 2020, UNFPA, Mr. Elmaddin Mehdiyev, Director General of the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC) addressed the opening ceremony of the conference hosted by Mr. Fsahat Ul Hassan, CEO of YAN and Board Member of ICYF-ERC.
ICYF-ERC Director General in his statement underlined the main directions of #OVID19 impacts on population from the youth and youth development perspectives. Referring to the successful activities of ICYF-ERC during the pandemic Mr. Mehdiyev stated that “Youth as an important segment of the society play a special role not only in fighting the pandemic but also to overcome its impacts and damages throughout and afterwards of the pandemic.”
The E-Conference continued with two thematic panels with participation of experts to discuss the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 on population, including young people.
