Visit of the Diplomatic corps accredited in Baku to the liberated Fuzuli region of Azerbaijan. 22 November 2020.
The Diplomatic corps and media representatives witnessed on site the situation of the Azerbaijani cemetery in Kurdlar village of Fuzuli vandalized during the Armenian occupation. The same situation was in another cemetery in the Fuzuli city. Graves were desecrated, older tombstones from the XIX and early XX centuries were totally destroyed or defaced. Many tombstones belonging to the old graves were missing. The traces of the working machines used for these vile acts of vandalism were obvious.
Acts of vandalism, defacing and other forms of desecration towards the Azerbaijani cemeteries committed by Armenians during the occupation of Azerbaijani territories are not just ferocity against the religious-spiritual objects but at same time it was a clear attempt to erase the cultural-historical heritage of Azerbaijanis forcibly expelled from their lands and homes as a result of illegal Armenian occupation lasting three decades.
