The online Closing Ceremony of the 4th Executive Model OIC international simulation conference was held today with the participation of Mr. Elmaddin Mehdiyev, Director General of the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC), H.E. Mr. Farhad Hajiyev, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Nasser Abdul Kareem A. Raheem, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Azerbaijan – doyen of the Diplomatic corps in Azerbaijan and H.E. Mr. Fariz Ismailzada, Vice-Rector of ADA University.
This year, over 100 talented youth from more than 30 countries participated in the 5-day seminars international simulation conference of the 4th Executive Model OIC. Aiming to increase their diplomatic competencies and skills the participants of the conference imitated the work of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC under the topic: “The Importance of International Cooperation to achieve Regional Development and Security”. The project was organized by ICYF-ERC in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Ceremony started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and later participants of the event held a minute’s silence in memory of H.E. Mr. Azad Rahimov, the late Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Elmaddin Mehdiyev expressed the gratitude of ICYF-ERC to the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan for its continuous support and cooperation towards the activities of the Regional Center, including 11 years of partnership in the realization of the Model OIC project both, on national and international levels. Mr. Mehdiyev also thanked the Ambassadors of the OIC member states as Palestine, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Morocco, and Algeria as well as international scholars who participated in the online lectures of the project.
H.E. Mr. Farhad Hajiyev, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan appraised the success of ICYF-ERC and renewed the Ministry’s full support to the activities of the Regional Center as an added value to and important part of the overall ICYF activities. He appreciated the commitment of the Board of ICYF-ERC and its Director General to increase the quality and quantity of the activities of the Regional Center for the benefit of the youth of geography and stated that the Ministry will continue to cooperate with ICYF-ERC to realize more projects to this end.
Underlying the importance of investing in education and development of youth as well as discussing the importance of international cooperation with a view of achieving regional development and security, H.E. Ambassador Nasser Abdul Kareem and H.E. Vice-Rector Mr. Fariz Ismailzada commended the initiatives of ICYF-ERC and wished good luck to the participants of the 4th Executive Model OIC in their future endeavors.
