On the 24th February, 2023, ADA MOIC Club hosted an event entitled “The Khojaly Genocide: A Case Study of Political and Legal Aspects”, dedicated to the 31th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, organized in cooperation with Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC) at ADA University.

This event was an opportunity to its participants to explore the political and legal dimensions of the Khojaly Genocide, which occurred during the Karabakh conflict in 1992.

Our guest speakers were Dr. Azer Babayev, Associate Professor and Director of BAIS and MADIA Programs, and Dr. Javid Gadirov, Assistant Professor of Legal Professions & Studies at ADA University. They provided a comprehensive analysis of the political and legal context of the Khojaly Genocide, including the roles of various political actors and international legal frameworks. At the end of panel, participants delivered their questions to the speakers.

After the event, the youth visited the Khojaly genocide monument, laid flowers in front of it, and paid tribute to the dear memories of the victims of the tragedy.

The Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC) expresses sincere thanks for the excellent support provided by ADA University and ADA MOIC Club in organizing and hosting the commemoration event for the local and international youth.
