CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!
On the occasion of the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and philosopher Nizami Ganjavi, ICYF-ERC announces an International Essay Competition. Our motive is to inform young people about the role of the Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi in Muslim culture, as well as to teach youth Nizami Ganjavi’s heritage, to promote Nizami’s work among the youth and to organize general enlightenment work.
Eligibility for Participation:
The contest is open to all youth aged between 16-36 from Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries.
Timeframe:
Deadline for Submitting Essays is 18 December 2021 at 23:59 according to Baku Time (GMT +4).
Announcement of the Winners will be posted on ICYF-ERC Social Media pages by the end of December 2021.
Topic for the essay: “Nizami-poet for all humanity”
Selection:
The following criteria will be applied during the selection process:
- Originality – uniqueness, novelty and authenticity of ideas
- Comprehensiveness – how complete and detailed the writer’s exposition of the topic.
- In time submission of the essay in the below mentioned website or email;
Submission process:
All the essays should be written only in English language, typed in Microsoft Word (based on font: Times New Roman, font size: 14, single spaced, word counts: min.700, max.1500) and uploaded in the form of DOC file (https://forms.gle/Bpu2C22vYNh2jwD88) or via email ([email protected]) no later than the final day of the deadline.
Winners and Awards:
In total, there will be 5 winners: one winner for the 1st place; one winner for the 2nd place; one winner for the 3rd place; and two honorable mentions. The 1st place winner will receive $300, the 2nd place $200, the 3rd place $150. Two participants will receive special prizes amounted $100.
