On the occasion of 8 November, the Victory Day of Azerbaijan in II Karabakh War, ICYF-ERC announces an International Essay Competition. The essay competition is seeking to explore the reflection of the modern youth upon the recent restoration of Azerbaijan’s ancient lands of the Karabakh region and will be composed of factual events reflecting the history, culture, religious, ethnic as well as social conditions of the Karabakh region highlighting Shusha before Armenian occupation and its remaining after the liberation of the territory.
Our motive is to promote the noble feelings and thoughts of the youth about heroism, patriotism, and national unity. The essays can embrace the years of Armenian vast destruction of Azerbaijani heritage in the region. Finally, the fight for liberation, justice, and glorious victory of the Republic of Azerbaijan can be touched upon within the essay.

Eligibility for Participation:
The contest is open to all youth aged between 16-36 from OIC countries.
Timeframe:
Deadline for Submitting Essays is 31 October 2021 at 23:59 according to Baku Time (GMT +4).
Announcement of the Winners will be posted on ICYF-ERC Social Media pages on 8 November 2021, the Victory Day of Azerbaijan.
Selection:
The following criteria will be applied during the selection process:
- Based on the historical facts;
- Comprehensiveness and completeness of the essay;
- In time submission of the essay in the below mentioned website or email;
Submission process:
All the essays should be written only in English language, typed in Microsoft Word (based on font: Times New Roman, font size: 14, single spaced, word counts: min.700, max.1500) and uploaded in the form of DOC file ( https://forms.gle/fuuMDFmVVXv8FWKx7 ) or via email ([email protected]) no later than the final day of the deadline.
Winners and Awards:
In total, there will be 6 winners: one winner for the 1st place; one winner for the 2nd place; one winner for the 3rd place; and three special winners. The 1st place winner will receive $300, the 2nd place $200, the 3rd place $150. Also, three participants will receive special prizes amounted $100. The award ceremony is going to be held online. The date of the award ceremony will be communicated.
