Dear friends and colleagues,
We are thrilled to announce another national stage of the International Debate Championship of Eurasian Muslim Countries on the theme of Heydar Aliyev Oratory School – Uzbekistan, which will be co-organized by the Youth Union of Uzbekistan (O’zbekiston Yoshlar Ittifoqi) and the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF-ERC). The debate championship is dedicated to the 100th birthday anniversary of Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and will be held in Uzbekistan on December 21, 2023, with the support of Tashkent State University of Economics and the public union “Debates in Civil Society”(DVC).
The championship will be held among the students of higher educational institutions in Uzbekistan in three stages, using the Karl Popper debate format, all conducted in English.
The event aims to delve into the most pressing issues in modern life, fostering respect for diverse opinions, nurturing analytical and critical thinking, and expanding participants’ horizons. The main goals of the debate championship are to contribute to the improvement of young people’s public speaking, communication and leadership skills, to contribute to the activities of young people in the social and political sphere, as well as to achieve the recognition of the personality of Heydar Aliyev in a wider audience.
The winners and participants of the tournament will receive gifts and awards, as well as the opportunity to represent their country in the International Debate Championship.
