Human Faces of Al-Quds

In the framework of the “Al-Quds – OIC Youth Capital 2018” international programme, the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF – ERC) organized the second European edition of “Human Faces of Al-Quds” international photo exhibition on February 14-17, 2019, at Kapel van refugiehuis van Norbertijnenabdij Drongen, Kaatsspelplein, in Gent, Belgium to demonstrate 51 photos symbolizing 51 year of the occupation of Al Quds.

Mr. Elmaddin Mehdiyev, the Director General of ICYF – ERC who attended the opening of the “Human Faces of Al-Quds” exhibition in Ghent on February 15, informed the guests about the project and thanked the partners, including the partnership of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the State of Qatar, support of Gent Municipality and cooperation of the local Think Out NGO for the realization of the exhibition. Mr. Mehdiyev emphasized that this type of cultural and informative events should be held to convey the true nature of Al-Quds – the holy place of the three heavenly religions to the people of different geographies which is also important for the entire Muslim world.

The Opening Ceremony of the exhibition was attended by the representatives of the different political parties in Belgium including Christian Democrats, Liberals, Greens and Workers’ Party, as well as public activists, scientists and media. Along with other guests, Mr. Veli Yuksel, Member of Parliament from the Belgian Federal Parliament, Mr. Hassan Al-Balawi (Palestinian Embassy in Belgium) and Palestinian academician Mohammed Al Saftavi from Ghent University also spoke about the importance of the exhibition and expressed their appreciation to the organizers and partners of the exhibition which was warmly welcomed by local people.
During the 4 days the exhibition received hundreds of visitors.
