Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC) in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan (RF) successfully co-organized the 5th Kazan – OIC Youth Entrepreneurship Forum under the auspices of H.E. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, on 21-25 April 2019. The Forum was held in the framework of the 11th Russia – Islamic World: Economic Summit (KazanSummit 2019).
35 most talented start-ups from the OIC geography and beyond were selected for participation at the Forum and provided with 5-day intensive mentorship to showcase their final products at the Investment Session of the Forum on 25 April, in presence of H.E. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The final part of the Forum – Investment Session was also attended by H.E. Taha Ayhan, the President of ICYF, H.E. Mohd Redzuan Yusuf, Minister of Entrepreneurship of Malaysia, H.E. Damir Fattahov, the Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan, H.E. Taliya Minullina, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, investors and start-up teams selected for participation at the Forum.
Addressing the Investment Session of the Forum, Mr. Elmaddin Mehdiyev, Director General of the ICYF-ERC – the co-organizer of the Forum, expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and its leadership for cooperation, excellent arrangements and warm hospitality. He also mentioned that throughout of 5 years so far more than 9000 start-ups applied for participation, more than 600 of them got mentorship and in total 200 start-ups and 500 youth participated in the Forum.
In the framework of the Forum, ICYF-ERC delegation hold bilateral meeting with H.E. Damir Fattahov, the Minister of Youth Affairs of Tatarstan discussing the further directions of mutual cooperation. Memorandum of Understandings were signed between ICYF-ERC and SELET Youth Movement of Tatarstan as well as ICYF-ERC and Commonwealth Youth Council at the final part of the Forum.
