The Demo-Day of the 8th Kazan OIC Youth Entrepreneurship Forum was held in Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan (RF), on 20 May, 2022.
More than 150 startups from 35 countries have been registered for the Forum, co-organized by the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF, Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, and “Selet” Youth Social Fund.
During one month’s preparation stage of the Forum, young entrepreneurs, authors of 50 startup projects representing 20 countries in an online format, took part in trainings conducted by experts and mentors operating in different countries of the world and gained relevant knowledge.
Overall, the best 33 startup projects, representing 15 countries (Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Jordan, etc.) were selected for the “Demo Day” – final stage of the investment session. At this stage, startuppers held presentations of their projects with the participation of investors and created relevant connections with them.
Soon after the pitching session, 33 successful startups were shortlisted for the award by the international jury of the Forum, consisting of Program Director of Forum Adeniyi Adebayo, International Entrepreneurship Consultant Ziad Barouni, Acting Director General of ICYF-ERC Vusal Gurbanov, CEO of Ejadlabs Arzish Azam, Program Coordinator at SABAH.lab Orkhan Abbasov, Head of Target program department at Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan Adel Gilaziyev, and Kazan IT Park Deputy Director on resident relations and external affairs Rustem Yunusov.
