ICYF-ERC Deputy Director General addressed the online webinar on the role of women in Islam.
Ms. Sevinj Iskandarova, Deputy Director General of the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC) delivered a speech in the 5th episode of the «OIC Youth Connect» webinar series, on 6 August 2020.
The Episode was also attended by the guest speakers: Dr. Celene Ibrahim, scholar, and author of the book “Women and Gender in the Quran” and Dr. Afiya S. Zia from the University of Toronto.
In her opening statement, Ms. Sevinj Iskandarova mentioned the importance of the enhancement of the participation of women in the life of Muslim societies and highlighted the events organized by ICYF-ERC serving the betterment of women position in society.
ICYF-ERC Deputy Director General also referred that protection of rights of women and their empowerment were always one of the main items in the agenda of OIC and its relevant institutions.
The online webinar series is organized by National Model OIC Pakistan in partnership with the ICYF-ERC.
