Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC) participated at the Lisboa+21 World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth 2019 and Youth Forum held on 21-23 June 2019, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Upon the initiative of youth organizations representing the mandated countries of ICYF-ERC, participants of the Lisboa+21, the sideline session serving to the interest and sustainable development of Eurasian youth and supported by ICYF-ERC was organized at Lisboa+21 in the framework of the official programme of the Conference.
Mr. Usman Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Youth Affairs, Mr. Farhad Hajiyev, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan, Ms. Cristina Andronic, Deputy Secretary of State for Youth of Romania and youth leaders from Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Romania and Kazakhstan participated at the session as speakers discussing the important issues related with the joint work of governments and youth organizations to achieve Peace and Security for Sustainable Development.
Youth Advocacy Network (YAN) of Pakistan, National Assembly of Youth Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and МК “Жас Отан” (Jas Otan) of Kazakhstan participated as the main partners of the session.
Mr. António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of the Portuguese Republic, Ms. María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés, President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, Minister of Education (in charge of youth) of Portugal and Ms. Jayathma Wickramanayake, United Nations Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth were among the high-level dignitaries inaugurating the Lisboa+21 World Conference.
