MOIC 2021 Special Edition Simulation Conference was held

The Model OIC Special Edition, an international simulation Conference of the OIC Foreign Ministers organized by the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC) took place October 23, in Baku State University as a side event of “Azerbaijan Investment and Culture Summit” to be organized on October 27-29 by Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) and Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOB Azərbaycan / SMB Azerbaijan) of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The conference was held under the theme “Sustaining Peace in the Region: Rebuilding Karabakh”.
The conference started with an opening speech by Vusal Gurbanov, Acting Director of ICYF-ERC. Mr. Gurbanov welcomed the participants and highlighted that the youth will increase their diplomatic competencies by sharing their knowledge and experience throughout the conference. He also added that such experience will shape the diplomats and leaders who will represent their countries in the near future. Then, Tugba Ceren Cerchi, Director of Youth Policy, Training and Education Department of ICYF, took the floor to welcome the participants, supported the youth, and wished them good luck in their future diplomatic endeavors. The opening ceremony ended with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.
30 Talented youth from 6 countries participated at the Conference by imitating the work of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers. They actively discussed the sustainable peace deals and hot issues for rehabilitation of the Karabakh region by expressing #youth vision on the topic. 5 distinguished participants of the conference will have a chance to attend the Summit and go for a trip to the Karabakh region.
