The members of the diplomatic corps and military representatives accredited in Azerbaijan visited the Aghdam district.

On August 16, The members of the diplomatic corps and military representatives accredited in Azerbaijan visited the Aghdam district. The delegation consisted of about 100 diplomats and servicemen from 45 countries and 12 international organizations. It was led by H.E. Mr. Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The main purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the current potential of the road infrastructure of the Karabakh economic zone, primarily the Aghdam-Khankendi highway, as well as the Barda-Aghdam railway and highway.
As part of their trip to Aghdam, the members of the diplomatic corps and military representatives visited the Khachinchay bridge constructed on the Aghdam-Khankandi road.
At the same time, the guests were informed about the destruction caused in Aghdam during the nearly 30-year occupation period by Armenia. The guests also got acquainted with the large-scale construction works that were being carried out in the city.
Acting Director General of the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC), Mr. Vusal Gurbanov, represented ICYF-ERC during this trip. The ICYF-ERC expresses its gratitude to H.E. Mr. Hikmat Hajiyev and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan for the invitation and organization of the trip.
