The city of Shusha has been declared the cultural capital of the Islamic world for 2024. At the 12th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World held in Doha, Qatar, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Adil Karimli presented the candidacy of Shusha, which is considered the cradle of Azerbaijan’s culture, to the ICESCO cultural capital of the Islamic world for 2024.
The city of Shusha was one of the important centers of the historical, cultural, social, and political life of Azerbaijan, as well as one of the symbols of Islamic civilization. With the unanimous opinion of the conference participants, Shusha was declared the capital of the Islamic world in 2024.
