On November 22, NAYORA organized the conference “Country Where Cultures Converge” at ADA University, with the support of UNESCO and in partnership with the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the opening ceremony, Fariz Ismayilzade, Vice Rector of ADA University, Azer Aliyev, Chairman of NAYORA, Indira Hajiyeva, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport, Gadir Khalilov, Acting Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, Anar Naghiyev, Rector of Baku Slavic University, and Revan Hasanov, Executive Director of Baku Multicultural Centre delivered congratulatory speeches, sharing their opinions with the participants. The main aim of the event was to stimulate active youth participation in the intercultural process and promote the values of multiculturalism and tolerance in Azerbaijan.
During panel discussions moderated by Ramin Habibzadeh, Secretary-General of NAYORA, Vusal Gurbanov, Acting Director General of the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF-ERC), delivered a speech on the topic “Role of youth in intercultural dialogue among Muslim countries: Challenges, goals and perspectives.” In his speech, V. Gurbanov particularly talked about the protection of Islamic values in a rapidly globalizing world and informed the participants about the activities of ICYF-ERC in the struggle against Islamophobia, as well as intercultural dialogue aimed at creating a positive image of the Islamic religion.
