The International Board and staff of the Eurasian Regional Center of ICYF (ICYF-ERC) extend their warm congratulations to the youth of the Ummah on the occasion of September 3rd, known as OIC Youth Day. This date marks the opening of the OIC Youth Forum headquarters in Istanbul on September 3, 2006, by H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, along with high-level officials from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and international dignitaries.
September 3, 2006, was a significant milestone in the growth and establishment of ICYF, originally founded in Baku, Azerbaijan, in 2004 under the patronage of the Azerbaijani Government. Its mission is to support the development and unity of Muslims in the OIC region and globally. Since 2017, this date has been celebrated as OIC Youth Day, as decided by the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Abidjan, Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, on July 10-11, 2017.
On this special day, ICYF-ERC acknowledges the tireless efforts of the founders and all those who contributed to ICYF’s establishment and growth. They send their best wishes for success to the entire staff and member organizations of the Forum. ICYF-ERC continues its commitment to serving the youth of the region, promoting cooperation, intercultural diversity, Muslim solidarity, and unity through a variety of activities.
