We are deeply saddened by the news of missile attacks on residential areas in Barda, Republic of Azerbaijan.
The International Board and Staff of the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF-ERC) strongly condemns the deliberate missile attacks (with the banned “Smerch” MLRS) by the military forces of Armenia against the civilian settlements of Azerbaijan, including the shelling of the city of Barda on 27-28 October 2020. As a result of the heinous and inhumane acts, at least 25 civilians, including kids were killed and more than 60 civilians were injured. These heinous attacks on innocent civilians constitute crime against humanity and war crime in accordance with the international law, including Geneva Convention.
This blatant violation of international law, universal codes and ethics as well as human values is yet another manifestation of the state terrorism policy of the Republic of Armenia pursued during the last 30 years and aimed at ethnic cleansing and extermination of Azerbaijanis.
May Allah the Almighty have mercy upon the souls of the victims and grant with patience their families!
