The Eurasian Regional Center of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF-ERC) pays tribute to the memory of the Black January martyrs on the 32nd anniversary of the vicious killing of civilians in Baku, Azerbaijan by the Soviet military troops on 20 January 1990. As a result of this inhumane act against civilians, including women and children, more than 140 people were killed and 744 victims were injured.
ICYF-ERC expresses its deepest condolences and sympathy to the people and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Day of the Nationwide Sorrow. We commiserate deeply with Azerbaijani brothers and sisters over this brutal attack and massacre which they suffered 32 years ago. This milestone was a decisive factor in the formation of Azerbaijan’s national identity and marked a turning point in the restoration of national independence.
We strongly condemn this massacre, and we feel and share the grief of brotherly Azerbaijan deep in our hearts.
May Allah the Almighty bless the souls of all the martyrs!
